Love Letters to Her - Patch & Remington Exhibition

Olivia and I are SO excited to announce our new exhibition, Love Letters to Her, at Patch & Remington in Marcellus, MI during the month of August.

As a part of my summer sabbatical every year (haha!) for the past three years in Marcellus, the gallery has lovingly allowed me to utilize the space in whatever way I wish. In 2021, I had my solo exhibition A Siren’s Call with work from my residency at The Siren Detroit. In 2022, I brought a whole party with me by having Silver Water Collective’s travelling exhibition Sterling Presence Redux come to the gallery. This year, I invited Olivia to show her work Write Yourself A Love Letter alongside selected images from The Untended Garden to create a work that is about femininity, strength, and finding yourself.

We can’t wait to see you during the exhibition!

Aeonian Magazine is a publication dedicated to celebrating experimental photography. Through Instagram, they have created a community of photographers interested in all things experimental-- polaroids, cyanotypes, tintypes, film, and so much more.

Into the Open - Detroit Artists Market

January 2022 - The Siren Collection and work from A Lack of Control is included in the Into the Open exhibition at Detroit Artists Market!

To bring something into the open means it is made public, not subject to concealment or obfuscation.  The exhibition, Into the Open, intends to do just that; to make more visible the diverse and formidable work of Detroit-area artists, Mariam Ezzat, Mara Magyarosi-Laytner, Priscilla Phifer, Heloisa Pomfret, Alice Smith, Mandisa Smith, and Jessica Wildman Katz. The varied art and design elements co-mingle via both 2D and 3D work, presenting a rich tapestry of talent and craftsmanship.

Silver Water Collective Announcement

October 2021 - Silver Water Collective, a group of ten women photographers from across the United States and Canada, announced their presence this week with a brand new website! (SWC Website) The group met at Savannah College of Art and Design during their time in the MFA Photography program. Mara, the founder of the group and one of the collective curators, initially reached out to each artist in December of 2020 based on their talent, work ethic, and goals as artists to band together and produce content as a group. Silver Water Collective produces exhibitions, live critiques, and will soon have the SWC Podcast!

The group’s first exhibition will be in Toronto, Canada in May. Stay turned for more details!
